Every year since 2007, the LPGA has come to Rogers, Arkansas, to play for Walmart's money in Walmart's backyard. The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship at Pinnacle Country Club is the rare tour event that explains its own town: Rogers golf exists at its current level because the biggest retailer on earth is headquartered up the road, and the corporate gravity of Northwest Arkansas pulled in the courses, the members, and eventually a tour stop to certify all of it.

That makes Rogers a company-town ranking in the best sense. Three private-leaning options, one clear headliner with a television history, and not much of a public game to speak of, which is itself a finding. We rank the golf first, then the day, then access, and Rogers scores oddly on the third leg for a town its size. The golf got rich faster than the access did.

## 1Pinnacle Country Club

Pinnacle is No. 1 because it is the only course in Rogers with a national record. Hosting the LPGA since 2007 means the course has been examined, on television, by the best women players in the world, year after year, and a layout that embarrasses a tour field gets dropped, not renewed. Pinnacle kept the date. That is the strongest evidence available in this town, and it is not close to anything the other two courses can put on the table.

The concession: tour hosting proves a course can test professionals in tournament setup, which is not the same as being the best member's course in town, and Pinnacle's identity is bound up with one sponsor's event to a degree purists find corporate. Fair. But a ranking needs evidence, and an eighteen-year tour run is evidence with a paper trail. Pinnacle wins Rogers outright.

## 2Shadow Valley Country Club

Shadow Valley is the second club in the Rogers orbit, a gated-community course serving the residential side of the Northwest Arkansas boom. Its golfers live around it, play it constantly, and rate the day there higher than outsiders expect, which is the standard story of a good community club and probably true.

It finishes second because its record stays local while Pinnacle's is televised. There is no shame in that gap; almost every second course in America lives in it. Shadow Valley's real competition is not Pinnacle but the other community clubs across the region, and within Rogers it holds the middle spot without a serious challenge from below.

## 3Prairie Creek Country Club

Prairie Creek is the third name, the older, smaller-scale option in the Rogers area, and candor is the right register. Its role is local and loyal: a country club for its neighborhood and its members, in a town whose golf headlines are written by a tour event across town. The public record on the course is thin, and we are not going to inflate it with borrowed specifics.

Third of three, then, on a short bench. But note the shape of this list: three clubs, no public anchor, in one of the fastest-growing corners of the South. Rogers built tour golf before it built everyday golf, and that order of operations says more about the town than any single ranking could. The Walmart money arrived first. The muni, if it ever comes, is still waiting its turn.
